Our mission statement is, “On our way rejoicing, proclaiming, teaching, and sharing God’s love!” We pray that God uses us to proclaim the love of God through Jesus to all who are a part of our faith community, to our neighbors, and to the world. We live out this mission statement
through our worship life, through faith formation including Sunday school, Bible study, and confirmation, and through the ways in which we strive to share God’s love with our neighbors. We pray that those who visit us will experience God’s love through Word and Sacrament and through the gathered Body of Christ.
If you visit us on a Sunday morning, we pray that you experience love and welcome. Our worship style is what many consider traditional. Although we tend toward a traditional worship style, we are laidback. We laugh a lot, and we don’t worry about doing everything perfectly. Pastor Kalen tries to give sermons that help people see how God is working in the situations of their everyday lives. Come as you are! People come to worship in whatever makes them comfortable. Some dress very casually in jeans and T-shirts. Others dress more formally. All styles of dress are acceptable! God does not care what you wear! We include children in worship. Every Sunday, in addition to the sermon, children are invited forward for a short children’s sermon. Children’s voices and active bodies are welcome here. We have many aunt, uncle, and grandma and grandpa types in our congregation who love and encourage the children in our midst.
There are many opportunities for those who wish to serve and share
their gifts including our women’s group, various committees, choir, and special events. We care deeply about our neighborhood and feel that God has called us to share God’s love in Sharon and the surrounding community through Word and deed.
We understand that it is God’s love in Christ Jesus that unites us through the power of the Holy Spirit. As a community of faith, we look to the cross, which stands as witness to God’s love for the world, and we find hope in the empty tomb.
